THE youngest councillor on Ross-on-Wye Town Council has resigned.
Craig Morgan handed in his resignation at the council's monthly meeting.
In a statement the 25-year-old said it had not been an easy decision to make but that his current work commitments and new career meant he did not have enough time to commit to the council.
Coun Daniel Lister said: "Although Craig isn't here I would like to take the opportunity to thank him very much for the work he did for this town.
"At his prime he did a lot of good work for this town and did a lot of good work for the children."
The vacancy will be advertised by Herefordshire Council and a by-election will take place if ten electors call for one.
Otherwise, councillors can co-opt a candidate.
