A DISPUTE between neighbours, which resulted in a man being handed a suspended prison sentence in crown court will feature on television tonight.
Gordon Bell, 54, of Roman Way, Stretton Sugwas, was found guilty after trial at Hereford Crown Court in June last year of criminal damage and affray towards neighbour Emanuel Spencer.
The incident dated back to August 8, 2016, when the relationship between Bell and neighbours Mr Spencer and his partner Sianna Davies had broken down.
The court heard that during the first altercation Bell had threatened to kill Mr Spencer.
Later that day Mr Spencer claimed that Bell had gone to stab him with the sharp end of a fence post causing Mr Spencer to jump back to avoid it.
Mr Spencer said that he was ‘emotionally traumatised’ by the incident.
Bell was handed an 18 month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and told to complete 180 hours of unpaid work.
The dispute is due to be aired on Channel 5 programme ‘The Nightmare Neighbour Next Door’ which is on at 8pm tonight.
In the programme the neighbours talk about issues on both sides leading up to the incident.
