A MAN was ordered to pay £315 by magistrates after being found with cocaine while entering a Hereford nightclub.

Luke Dean Frayling, 28, of Roman Road, Hereford, pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine when he appeared before Hereford Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Sara Beddow, prosecuting, said that on October 29, Frayling visited Mamma Jammas nightclub in Hereford.

He was searched by door staff and found to be in possession of cocaine which Miss Beddow said was valued between £25 and £50.

Marilena Di Vitantonio, mitigating, said that Frayling thought the value of the drug was £20.

"He states that it was a one-off while he attended the venue," said Miss Di Vitantonio.

"He was in the police station for a number of hours for this matter of simple possession. He could have been cautioned for this matter, I'm not sure why police chose to prosecute."

Magistrates ordered Frayling to pay a £150 fine, £30 victim surcharge and £135 costs.
