CHILDREN at a Herefordshire school had a surprise when a reindeer attended their Christmas Fayre last month.

The children at Kingstone and Thruxton Primary School were given the surprise after local company EMS Limited decided to arrange the treat.

The Christmas Fayre, arranged by the school's PTFA was raised over £1,300 for the school. The children also helped by creating gifts to sell at the fayre.

Elissa Vigus, headteacher said: “It was a joy to see their faces light up when they saw the reindeer, and they couldn’t believe that they were allowed to stroke them as well.

"Trevor Hill who owns the reindeer, the eldest called Elsa, told the children all about the reindeer what they ate, what they liked and disliked and how they got ready to pull Santa’s sleigh on Christmas eve, it was magical.

"We are so grateful to EMS Ltd for arranging this and to all those that attended and are so grateful for the fantastic amount raised for the school”
