UNEMPLOYED border residents aged over-54 can receive free support and mentoring as part of a European funded initiative to help them into employment.

Workways+ Powys is a project that gives free, individual and tailored support to help people into employment or self-employment.

The scheme is open to people across Powys who are aged 54 and older and who are not currently working or registered unemployed.

Delivered by Prime Cymru and funded by the European Social Fund and Powys County Council, the free support can include one-to-one help with mentoring, on-line and traditional job-seeking, interview skills, CV writing, sourcing trial work placements, training, or guidance on setting-up in business.

The sessions will take place in Hay-on-Wye Library on January 15, 22, and 29, also on February 5 and 12 between 1.30pm and 4pm.

Sessions also take place at Knighton and District Community Support on January 23, February 6 and 20 between 10am and 1pm.
