A 32-YEAR-old man who died following an accident at Pontrilas Sawmills has been named.
Just before Christmas, emergency services were called to the sawmills south of the county to reports of an industrial incident.
An inquest was opened and adjourned by Herefordshire Coroner’s Court last week and the man who died has been named as Roman Grzegorz Kokot.
A coroner’s officer said he was a sawmill worker and lived in Heather Close, Sirhowy, Tredegar in Gwent. He was from Poland.
The accident, which took place on December 20, is the subject of a joint police and Health and Safety Executive investigation.
The ambulance service said the man had become trapped beneath a large piece of machinery. He was confirmed dead at the scene.
