Bishops student knows how to design

A HEREFORD pupil is motoring towards a career in engineering thanks to a London course.

Jonathan Mayall, of The Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat School, took part in a Design and Manufacture course at The University of Greenwich.

The four-day residential course gave pupils an introduction to skills and techniques used in design and manufacture and were given the chance to experience industrial machining as well as industry standard software.

Working in small teams the students put the skills they had acquired to good use by designing, building and testing their own model car, before racing them around a test track.
