MARK Whitmore took home a hamper of Christmas goods after putting on an impressive performance in Ross Golf Club's Men's Christmas Fayre.

The 11 handicapper put in a round of 48 stableford points to clinch victory from a strong field of 80 competitors.

From the club's shortened yellow course, Whitmore's round consisted of 11 pars and four birdies.

His one under gross par result was also blessed with non-qualifying status to maintain his handicap.

Whitmore was pressed hard for the top spot by 18 handicapper Antony Graham who will have led the field at the half-way point with a 26 points haul and the equivalent of one over gross par.

Graham's final 47 points total was his best round since joining Ross Golf Club earlier this year, but left him agonisingly one point short Whitmore.

Graham was followed by Richard Tromans with 45 points and a host of 43 pointers being Stephen Price, Graham Higdon, Adrian Hope, Cam Haines and Harold Beach.

Seventeen-year-old three handicapper Cam Haines finished his year in top form hitting 14 pars and four birdies.
