Last weekend, Sue Edwards, who was artist in residence at the Cider Museum in the summer, opened her Big Colour Painting Sale in the city, a pop-up Christmas Gallery at 41 Bridge Street, and it's back again this week and next.

Sue is a portrait and landscape artist who paints in a lively contemporary impressionist style in oil on canvas, and, having moved to the area earlier this year with her husband Martin, Sue is keen to do something in recognition of the warm welcome they've been given.

"We love Hereford, everyone has been so welcoming and friendly. We wanted to give something back, so we are contributing a proportion of sales of my paintings to two local charities: The Friends of Herefordshire Museums and Arts, and St Michael's Hospice."

The gallery will be open this week from Thursday to Saturday, 10.30am to 4pm and the same days and times next week.

The event is being hosted by Graham and Shirley Baker: "Just the best example of 'The Herefordian helping hand', says Sue.
