A SPECIAL educational needs school in Hereford is set to receive almost £3,000 thanks to a charity ABBA tribute night.

Held at The Left Bank, in Hereford, last month 240 people watched the UK’s Number 1 ABBA tribute band, R?VIVAL.

An enjoyable evening saw the total fundraising amount for Blackmarston School from ticket sales alone reach £2,892, with more money set to come in from additional donations over the next few weeks.

"Most people have some sort of affinity with ABBA, even if the music isn’t from their era, so it was great to see people of all ages enjoying the show," said Specsavers Hereford's store director, Nialle Smith.

"We’d like to say a very big thank you to everyone who came along and made the evening such a success and helped us raise a truly fantastic amount for Blackmarston School."

Based in Hereford, Blackmarston is a state-funded, coeducational special school for children between the age of two and 11 years. The school caters exclusively for children who have special educational needs (SEN).
