FIREFIGHTERS came to the saviour of a cow which was stranded in the River Wye this morning.
The cow was spotted by somebody on the other side of the river in Welsh Bricknor, near Whitchurch, at around 10.30am this morning.
A boat crew from Hereford joined firefighters from Whitchurch and an animal rescue team from Bromyard at the scene.
Using the boat and harnesses the firefighters managed to guide the cow out of the deep water into a shallower area and then onto the bank.
The cow was reunited with its owner at 12.58pm.
