THE fourth crowd-funding MalvernSoup event is to be held this weekend at Malvern Vale Community Centre.

The purpose is to raise funds for local projects, and what better way than to get together over a bowl of soup to support projects that make a positive difference in Malvern.

Organisers have made some changes for this fourth event. They will be launching Soup Tiny Stage which will help young musicians to showcase their talent in front of a sympathetic audience. A local caterer has kindly agreed to donate the soup itself for this event.

The groups pitching for funding this time are Penny Ha’penny horse rescue centre, Garden Art, which supports people with disabilities through art classes, Malvern Vale Youth Club and the Ugly Duckling Happiness Lab, which supports people with mild depression.

Run by local volunteers, MalvernSoup has been shortlisted by Malvern Hills District Council for a community award.

“It’s wonderful that our work is being recognised,” says founder Chris Reed, “but more importantly, the recognition will help us to spread the word about MalvernSoup and get more people involved.”

MalvernSoup will take place on Sunday, November 26, at 3pm.
