A HEREFORD brewery has launched a new beer which will support the armed forces community.

Hope & Glory is a 4.2%% beer brewed exclusively for the Royal British Legion (RBL) by Hereford Brewery, which is owned by Councillor Jim Kenyon.

A total of 10 per cent from every sale will go to the RBL. A number of pubs, including Wetherspoon – which was recently at the centre of a 'fake news' scandal when it was falsely alleged that staff were not allowed to wear poppies – are going to be stocking the new beer.

Cllr Kenyon said: "We've just launched it and already had an order for the British Embassy in Moscow.

"a lot of the local pubs have got behind it too. Wetherspoon had some fake news going around about not allowing staff to wear poppies but it wasn't true and both Leominster and Hereford are on board with it.

"It'll be available for the next year in bottle and cask. With the Poppy Appeal, people put their money in the box every November but the great work done by the Royal British Legion happens all year round.

"Ten per cent of all sales will go to the RBL so throughout the year we hope it'll raise a good amount of money and give people the opportunity to help."
