The Schubert Ensemble, one of the the world’s leading performers of music for piano and strings, will play in St Mary’s Church, Hay on Wye during their final world tour, at 7pm on Friday, November 3.
Since their first concert in January 1983 the Schubert Ensemble have performed in more than 40 different countries, have over 80 commissions to their name, have recorded over 30 acclaimed CDs and are familiar to British audiences through regular broadcasts on BBC Radio 3.
On their first visit to Hay they will play the well-loved piano quintet by Dvorak, the lesser known but equally vibrant quintet by Martinu and a new piece commissioned by the group from composer Piers Hellawell.
