HEAVY rain has caused some problems across the county today.

The downpour has led to motorists having to take extra care due to water on the roads, while pedestrians have had to avoid large puddles in Hereford city centre.

Particular areas affected have included Aylestone Hill and the narrow cut-through from Mortimer Road to Burcott Road.

And forecasters are expecting more heavy rain to fall on the county later today.

There's also a yellow weather warning in place for Saturday which could affect southern parts of the county as Storm Brian rolls in from the Atlantic.

The Met Office state: "A spell of strong southwesterly winds is expected.

"Some coastal routes and communities are likely to be affected by large waves, with potential for flooding of properties.

"Some transport disruption is likely across the warning area, with delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport. Short term loss of power and other services is also possible."
