A SEVEN-year-old boy has died in hospital following a crash which left other family members seriously injured.

A man in his 20s who was the driver of a black Honda Civic was also pronounced dead at the scene of the collision which happened on the A438 between Trumpet and Ledbury on Sunday at around 11.20pm.

The driver of a silver VW Tiguan suffered a broken shoulder, and all four passengers were injured – three seriously.

One of the passengers, a seven-year-old boy, sadly died in hospital. 

Four ambulances, three emergency doctors and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene of the crash which involved a Black Honda Civic and a Silver VW Tiguan late on Sunday night.

Dr Malcolm Russell and Dr Mark Wheeley were the two MARS (Mercia Accident Rescue Service) doctors who attended.

Dr Russell said: “Our thoughts are with the patients and families of all those involved and we are truly saddened by the tragic loss of life from this incident.

“MARS is committed to supporting the emergency services, with whom we work in very close partnership, to maximise patient care.

Police, fire and ambulance personnel worked seamlessly together in this very complex incident, a testament to the quality of those organisations, their people, and the service they provide to our community.”
