BREAST Cancer Awareness Month has prompted a Hereford charity to arrange a host of events.

Breast Cancer Haven in St Owen Street has organised a number of events throughout October to support more people through breast cancer.

Every year around 10,000 women in Herefordshire are screened for breast cancer. Rates of breast cancer in the county are higher than would be expected given the age-sex structure of the population.

Breast Cancer Haven provides, completely free of charge, a wide range of therapies which help people deal with the physical and emotional side effects of breast cancer. No referral is necessary.

The first event is on September 30 at Glewstone Court Country House on the eve before Breast Cancer Awareness Month starts. There will be a three-course meal, a charity auction and raffle as well as music and dancing until late.

Tickets are £45 per head. Guests should arrive at 7pm to be seated for 7.30pm. Carriages at 1am.

On October 7 at the Left Bank in Hereford from 8pm there is an evening of 80s music. Tickets are £10.

There is an exclusive private shopping experience with Fizz and Canapés at Flanesford Priory on October 9.

There will be more than 20 stalls. Tickets are £20 per head.

The big Curry Up! will take place on October 20 at the Left Bank, Hereford. All guests will each receive a free Burger Shop Bombay Burger.

There will be a cookery demonstration from Rayeesa's Indian Kitchen and The Starlight Company will be performing Bollywood dancing.

The event is free to attend but you must book a place. The event launches the Big Community Curry Up! where people will get together and host their own Curry Up! events across Herefordshire.

Then on October 27 there is a Big Pink Music Quiz at The Left Bank. Tickets are £20 for a team of 4.
