THREE people including a teenage boy were seriously injured following a two car crash between Hereford and Worcester.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A4103, near Fromes Hill, at about 6.40pm on Saturday, September 16 after two cars - a blue Ford Focus and a blue Nissan Qashqai collided.

A Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham scrambled to the scene alongside three ambulances, a paramedic officer an anaesthetist and a doctor.

A 13-year-old boy, who was trapped inside a vehicle for 45 minutes before being released using hydraulic cutting equipment, sustained head, chest and leg injuries in the smash.

He was anaesthetised at the scene before being taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital by ambulance.

A 51-year-old man suffering from shoulder and pelvic pain was also cut out of a vehicle before being immobilised at the scene and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

A 27-year-old man, who was driving the Nissan Qashqai, was able to get himself out of the vehicle but was in shock and sustained face and chest pain.

He was given pain relief and taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service had two crews from Malvern and one from Bromyard to the scene.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash.
