LEARN what to do at a special training day if someone is having a cardiac arrest.

In the UK, people have a less than a one in ten chance of surviving an out of hospital cardiac arrest in the UK, but in Norway, four times that amount survive.

It is known that the major difference is the amount of training in CPR that occurs.

Herefordshire Heartstart will be participating in Restart a Heart Day on October 16 by holding two courses.

The first is at The Richmond Club in Edgar Street from 2pm to 4pm and the second is at Hereford Rowing Club, Greyfriars Avenue from 6pm to 8pm.

The venues have kindly donated their facilities free of charge. During the free, two hour course, participants will learn: how to call for help, how to help someone who is unconscious, how to perform CPR, the role of the defibrillator, how to deal with choking and serious bleeding.

To attend one of these courses booking is essential. To register email info@herefordshireheartstart.co.uk; telephone 0845 60 60 654; or post PO Box 305, Hereford, HR1 9JD
