FORWARD Kyonn Evans has agreed to rejoin Worcester City from West Midlands League side Malvern Town.

The 25-year-old from Lower Broadheath joined Malvern from Littleton in the summer and has helped them to a 100 per cent Premier Division start from six games with five goals.

Evans first figured for City in National League North as a teenager and has also played for Hallow in the Worcester and District Sunday League among a string of local clubs.

He goes straight into the squad as City head to Long Eaton United in the Midland League Premier Division tomorrow (3pm).

Injury-hit City had been hoping to welcome new faces as they look to bounce back in the league in Derbyshire.

They were down to the bare bones when Coventry United beat them 3-0 on Monday after playing seven games last month.

Joint manager John Snape made the last-minute loan signing of Gloucester City midfielder George Forsyth before the defeat.

“We just need to freshen the squad up in terms of injuries we have got,” said Snape.

“George has come to help us out for a month due to Nathan Haywards’s injury and Brad Birch’s (three-match) suspension.

"Hayward will hopefully be a couple of weeks away while Brad has got another two games.

“With the fixture pile-up we were a bit light in there so Tim Harris (Gloucester City manager) has let us have George.

“He was nice and tidy at Coventry but we want to work with him to get us playing a bit more forward.”

Joint manager Lee Hughes was absent on Monday while he underwent extensive physiotherapy from the England staff but could return tomorrow.

Left-sided players Aaron Griffiths and Jamie Smith will also be assessed ahead of the trip.

Long Eaton are winless this season having lost three of their first five league games.

But they only lost 2-1 at home to high-flying Heanor Town on Monday and drew 2-2 with Loughborough University.

“I will get a report on Long Eaton as we had their game against Heanor watched and we will have a look at them,” said Snape.

“You never know in this league. Everybody thought Loughborough was going to be a doddle but it wasn’t.”

Forsyth, 20, has knowledge of the division thanks to father and former Kidderminster Harriers favourite Richard Forsyth who manages AFC Wulfrunians.

After spending four years at Harriers as a youngster the midfielder signed for Gloucester in the summer.

“It felt nice to be playing again as I haven’t in a while, not since pre-season really,” he said.

“I was looking at getting out on loan as I just need games at my age so I took the chance straight away.

“I’m disappointed not to be in the Gloucester team but I have just got to concentrate on myself and hopefully help Worcester as well.

“I do know some of the teams in the league as I have seen some of the Wulfrunians games.

“It’s a good test. Getting that run of games is all I want and I’m looking forward to this weekend.”
