A FATHER was caught drug driving with his two children in the car, a court heard.
Daniel James George, 34, of Ross Road, Hereford, was dropping his children off with their mother when he was stopped by police on Hunderton Road on July 8.
He pleaded guilty to drug driving at Hereford Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Amy Davies, prosecuting, said that police stopped the car due to a defect brake light and after suspecting drug use carried out a drug swipe.
George gave a reading of 4.3ug/L per 100ml of blood of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (the active compound found in cannabis), the legal limit is two.
Emma Thorne, prosecuting, said that George thought that he was stopped by police as they wanted to check the children's car seats were fitted correctly in the vehicle.
George said that he had consumed cannabis the previous evening.
Magistrates disqualified George from driving for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a £211 fine, £135 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
