Arts Alive’s new season of music, drama and dance kicks off with a must-see performance by top young guitarist Remi Harris, playing with his trio in Kingsland.

Remi Harris is based locally but has a national and international reputation. He and his trio have toured worldwide and performed at Buckingham Palace, Montreal Jazz Festival, BBC Proms, and on BBC TV and radio.

The Remi Harris Trio takes gypsy swing characteristics and infuses them with influences from jazz, blues, rock'n'roll, funk, world music and more. They play an eclectic mix of original compositions, jazz standards and new arrangements of music from Django Reinhardt, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Parker, Peter Green and more. Remi leads on a variety of acoustic and electric guitars, accompanied by a hot club rhythm section of acoustic guitar and double bass. The set includes solo, duet and trio playing, with fascinating commentary from Remi about the history of the music and the guitars he plays.

Catch the Remi Harris Trio at St Michael and All Angels Church, Kingsland at 7.30pm on Saturday, September 16. To book, call 07905 589830. They will then return to Herefordshire to play at Fownhope New Memorial Hall at 7.30pm on Friday, October 13. To book, call 01432 860221 or visit artsalive.co.uk to book online.
