The European Union Chamber Orchestra will perform at The Courtyard tonight.

Directed by Hans-Peter Hofmann the EUCO will perform a programme of Summer Baroque featuring Piers Adams on recorders. A much-loved musician, Adams initially trained as an astrophysicist but began playing the recorder professionally at the age of 21. He is one of the world’s leading recorder players and has given the instrument a broad popular appeal through his concerts, broadcasts and recordings.

The EUCO performed its first concerts in 1981 and soon gained an international reputation as a musical ambassador for the European Union. Funding from the European Commission enabled EUCO to make its name familiar worldwide with tours to East Asia, Thailand and Indochina, North, South and Central America, North Africa, India and the Middle East as well as across Europe. They regularly perform in major concert halls throughout the UK and has broadcast several times live on BBC Radio 3.

European Union Chamber Orchestra will be in The Courtyard’s Main House on Friday, July 21. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit www.courtyard.org.uk.
