A YEAR-nine pupil at one Hereford school raised more than £1,000 for a county charity through a sponsored hair cut.
Twinkle Tomy, who attends St Mary’s R.C. High School in Lugwardine, had her hair cut short to make a donation to the Little Princess Trust.
She chose to support the charity after a close friend had cancer and she had felt she could do nothing to help.
She raised a total of £1,157 – the school raised more than £190 on the day and donated a further £50 and the rest was donated by family, friends, her former primary school, her church and the community.
Her hair was cut by Justine Williams, who is a parent from the school and a member of the PTFA.
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs for girls and boys who have been suffering from cancer.
