FIFTEEN Duke of Edinburgh Award students from the John Beddoes campus of Newtown High School joined with members of Presteigne Area Development Group to pick litter in Presteigne.
The group led by Emma Lilley and working with Keep Wales Tidy met at the town's recycling centre where they were kitted out with high-vis vests, bin bags, gloves and litter pickers.
They picked up eight big bags of litter, of which two were recyclable - mostly plastic bottles and the entire High Street was swept top to bottom.
