MOTHS were the star of the show at the Hub, St Peter's Centre on June 24.

There were lots of moths to view having been caught in light traps, activities for children and bacon butties on offer.

Around 60 people attended the event ranging from an age of one to 95.

Over 60 species of moths were present including the wonderful elephant hawk-moth, blood-vein and the declining garden tiger moth.

Event organizer Tim Kaye from Cultivating Learning and Nature CIC commented 'It was great the see the whole community together being fascinated by wildlife. I am sure we have sparked an interest in young and old minds alike.'

CLaN CIC are also running a talk on moths later in the year. For more details please visit clan-cic.org
