THE mother of a two-year-old triplet diagnosed with cerebral palsy has said 'there is no stopping' her son now thanks to the help he is receiving from Megan Baker House.

Ryan Gilbert was born 11 weeks early and when he was around eight-months-old his mother, Lisa, noticed he could not sit up unaided like his siblings.

He also tilted his head to one side while sat in his seat and would only commando crawl. With his siblings crawling and starting to stand, Ryan seemed a fair bit behind them.

Lisa said: "Ryan was referred for physio and at 15-months-old he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

"My world fell apart the day I was told. Ryan continued to have physio but during this time a family member told me about Megan Baker House and conductive education, and explained how they had helped her son."

She contacted Megan Baker House, based near Leominster, and Ryan started his sessions on February 23 2016 following an assessment.

"Eight months after starting his conductive education Ryan took his first independent steps – four – followed a few months after by 40 steps. Now after a year of being at Megan Baker House, Ryan is finally walking independently – there's no stopping him now," she said.

"I can't thank the staff at MBH enough for all their hard work with Ryan. If he didn't go here then I have no idea where he would be now.

"The staff are always very approachable and happy to answer questions, while they can talk with other parents of children with disabilities there too."
