A GROUP of four primary school pupils in Leominster organised an event which raised more than £700 for victims of the Manchester Arena terror attack.
The year-six children at Leominster Primary School came up with the idea of asking all pupils to dress in rainbow colours to show – in the words of the children – that the school is 'strong, bright, bold and beautiful and that no-one can change that'.
Children readily took up the challenge and came to school dressed in every colour imaginable and, together with a cake sale, raised nearly £756.
This included £34 which one of the girls raised at First Leominster Guides.
Head teacher, Tim Mamak, said: "We are very proud of the four children who organised this fundraising event and the large amount raised reflects the support our community felt for Manchester."
