TWO county nursing homes will be welcoming members of the public as part of a national event.

Ledbury Nursing Home and Froome Bank care home in Bromyard are taking part in National Care Home Open Day on Friday (June 16).

Ledbury Nursing Home, which is run by Shaw healthcare, will be hosting a lunch for Ledbury's Deputy Mayor, Councillor Keith Francis, to enjoy with residents and relatives, followed by an afternoon tea at 2.30pm for the general public.

Children from Bromsberrow St Mary’s Primary School will also be visiting to take part in various activities with the residents.

At Froome Bank, the day will be kicked off with a performance from 'Good Time Theatre' at 11am.

The Mayor of Bromyard, Councillor Fred Clark, will be in attendance and there will also be a coffee afternoon and raffle at 3pm.

The aim of Care Home Open Day is to encourage local people to visit care homes in their communities and for care homes to take the opportunity to celebrate the positive relationships between residents and their families, friends and staff, as well as their neighbours in the surrounding area.

Ledbury Nursing Home is situated in Ledbury Health and Community Care Centre, Market Street, Ledbury.

Froome Bank is based on Tower Hill, Bromyard.
