TWO circus performances at a remote county school were a sell-out.

All 600 tickets were sold for the pop-up circus company (no animals) performance in the grounds of Longtown Primary School.

Hayley Gjerstad, chair of the PTA at the school, said: "It was a real privilege to receive the positive feedback from the pop-up circus company and that of so many people that attended the event. The circus company complimented the children’s genuine enthusiasm in the shows and their lovely nature, along with our stunning setting that we are so lucky to benefit from every day.

"We are the smallest school the pop-up circus company have ever performed for and the PTA was proud to learn that our event was a firm favourite of theirs. It goes to show it is not about the size of a school that makes the difference, it is those that support and organise these fundraising events that makes the real difference."

The money raised on the day will go to Longtown Primary School and the Pre-school.

The event was sponsored by Celtic Vale Natural Mineral Water and Hopes of Longtown, along with donations from local companies in attendance on the day, including Stoked feasts, Rowlestone ice cream, Field 2 Fork and Lucky7 Beer Co.
