MORE funds to support Herefordshire Samaritans are being sought as fundraising continues to be a challenge.
All of the services at the Berrington Street Centre are provided by volunteers but there are many costs involved in keeping the branch open: costs of running the centre, maintaining the SamVan, recruiting and training new volunteers and reaching out to the community.
Recently, the Friends received a donation of £451 from the staff at Waitrose, Hereford, when they were one of the charities to benefit from the green tokens in March.
The next fundraising event is a lunch to include a bridge drive and/or walk around the beautiful gardens at Brobury House, HR3 6NS on June 28. Priced at £15 (all included), the event will run from noon to 4pm.
There will also be an open garden event at Lower Hope Gardens on August 13, from 2pm - 5pm. Adults £6, children £1.
