THE latest in the St Michael's Hospice open gardens programme takes place next on Thursday, June 1.
Escape the hustle and bustle with a gentle stroll around the tranquil Deanery and Canons' Gardens.
At the foot of Hereford Cathedral and beside the Wye, the adjoining gardens are a place to escape the hubbub of modern life.
The Deanery Garden has terraced lawns connected by steps, looking down towards the river which flows along the bottom of both gardens. The Canons' Garden has an abundance of lavender and is full of roses, and it is hoped the hollyhocks will also be in flower.
Seating is dotted across the sloping lawns looking onto the river and adjacent King George V Playing Fields.
Make sure you take the time to enjoy tea and cake in the grand surroundings of the College Hall, which was refurbished back in 1753 and leads onto the Deanery Garden.
The cost for adults is £5, with children under 12 free.
Refreshments will be available, and the cathedral's own Café Mundi will be open throughout the day.
There is no parking onsite but it is available locally.
