POLICE are concerned for the welfare of a man who was seen on Wergins Bridge, near to Sutton St Nicholas yesterday afternoon.

The man was seen by a member of the public who drove past at approximately 2.05pm.

When the driver drove back through the area approximately four minutes later the man was no longer there, so he reported it to police.

West Mercia Police is concerned for the welfare of this man and would like to locate him and make sure he is safe and well.

He is described as a white man in his late 50s to early 60s and was wearing jeans and a dark blue short jacket. He is also described as having tanned skin and short dark blond hair, which is wispy in appearance.

Inspector Darren Godsall said: "We would like to find and identity this man to ensure that he is safe and well."

He said thorough searches of the area were conducted yesterday afternoon.

He added: "I would ask any members of the public who saw a man matching this description in the area at the time to please contact police. I would also ask anyone who may know who this man is to phone us on 101."
