A UNIQUE family-run business specialising in baked pierogi is up for a street food award.

Old Granary Pierogi is run by a Polish family who settled in rural Herefordshire and embraced British cuisine before infusing it with their Polish culinary knowledge.

They’re busy most weekends selling their pierogi at events around the country and have now been shortlisted as a finalist in the British Street Food Awards 2017.

Pierogi is a traditional, hearty Polish dish which can resemble either Italian ravioli or the traditional Cornish pasty. Their pierogi are made from dough, rolled and stuffed with a variety of tasty fillings with ingredients all sourced from the region.

They also provide catering for events, cooking up delicious soups, bigos, kopytka and golabki.

The team, which was most recently at the Hereford River Carnival, has been shortlisted for an award out of 3,000 applicants.

The Midlands finals will take place at Digbeth Dining Club in June when voting will also be open.
