A HEREFORD school has maintained its 'good' rating, Ofsted has said.

Our Lady's Primary School, based on Boycott Road, receiving the rating in all four key areas for the effectiveness of leadership and management, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children and learners.

Some of the key findings were that the head teacher, other leaders and governors had an accurate view of the school’s strengths and the areas that need to improve further.

Rigorous monitoring of teaching has led to improvements in previous weak teaching and consequently outcomes in early years and key stage 1 are improving strongly.

They also said attendance of pupils was 'very high' and persistent absence is low while pupils’ behaviour is of a very high standard throughout the school.

Children, staff and governors are enjoying Easter activities following their Ofsted inspection earlier in the spring term when they were judged good across all four areas.

Head teacher, Mrs Woolaway, said: "This is a very strong report and is a credit to all staff, pupils, governors and parents.

"Children, staff and governors send happy Easter greetings to all Hereford Times readers."
