A MAN was caught driving while under the influence of drugs twice in three days, a court heard.

Daniel Bruce Wyatt, 25, of Burton Wood, Weobley, pleaded guilty to two counts of drug driving at Hereford Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Amy Davies, prosecuting, said that the first incident happened on February 17 when Wyatt was stopped while driving his BMW 3 on Yazor Road.

"He was believed to be going at speeds in excess of 30 miles per hour and was pulled over," said Mrs Davies.

"When police spoke to him about the moving traffic offence a drug swipe was carried out which was positive."

A drug test provided gave a reading of 319 microgrammes per 100ml of blood of Benzoylecgonine (BZE), a metabolism of cocaine, the legal limit is 50.

Three days later police saw the defendant driving the same vehicle at 7.55pm at Asda Carpark in Hereford and they had reason to stop him.

He was tested again and gave a reading of 508 microgrammes per 100ml of blood of Benzoylecgonine (BZE).

Marilena Di Vitantonio said that Wyatt accepted that he had a cocaine problem and since that time he had been to Addaction drug treatment charity.

She added that there was no suggestion that his driving was impaired.

Wyatt had previously been banned for drink driving in February 2013 meaning that he faced a mandatory three years disqualification.

Magistrates ordered him to pay a fine of £200 for each of the offences, a £135 victim surcharge and £30 costs.

He was also disqualified from driving for three years for both offences to run concurrently.
