HEREFORDSHIRE Council had to threaten a developer with a winding-up order after they had not paid money towards local infrastructure.
Cllr Phil Cutter told Ross-on-Wye Town Council on Monday night that Yvonne Coleman, planning obligations manager at Herefordshire Council, wrote to Persimmon Homes South Midlands to say the council would begin winding-up procedures against them for money they owed.
Following this letter, the developers paid the outstanding £325,980 towards transport, sport and education infrastructure.
Persimmon Homes South Midlands was granted planning permission for 87 homes on land at Tanyard Lane in Ross-on-Wye on January 22, 2010, subject to a Section 106 agreement.
Section 106 agreements are drafted when it is considered that a development will have significant impacts on the local area that cannot be moderated by means of conditions attached to a planning decision.
