TWO junior doctors are taking on the London Marathon in the same year that they will tie the knot.

Milly Pudge and her fiancé Joe Mellor will be running 26.2 miles on April 23 for Cancer Research UK.

Little over a year ago, Joe completed four months of chemotherapy in his fight against Hodgkin's Lymphoma and he is now in remission.

Milly is from Kingsland and went to Lucton School and Hereford Sixth Form College.

She said: "We have chosen to run the London 2017 Marathon for Cancer Research UK.

"Your money will go towards helping scientists learn how to beat more cancers sooner and more effectively.

"Cancer Research UK also maintain an excellent website which has a wealth of information and support for helping people in their fight with cancer just as it did for us."

Milly currently works at Birmingham Children's Hospital as a pediatrician in the oncology department.

She is marrying Joe in November in Herefordshire, after a short engagement, and have fitted in planning a wedding around their hectic training schedule and long hours as doctors.
