THE Easter exhibition at the Green Stage Gallery in Bishop's Frome features the work of regular gallery artists Doug Eaton and Juli Ann Coward.

Doug Eaton grew up in Coleford, Forest of Dean, and has work in many private collections in the UK and abroad.

"I think I’ve always been interested in what paint does and hopefully have applied it in as many different ways as my imagination will allow. Although I’ve done my fair share of traditional looking paintings I am currently trying to be more fundamental in my approach to try and produce a strong result from lines, shapes and colours which combined in some way evoke a landscape, usually based on the Forest of Dean, which I find to be quite a particular landscape."

Juli Ann Coward's painting of Bristol Cathedral was used on much of Bristol Cathedral's publicity for 2008 and 2009 and she has worked on numerous commissions over the last few years.

"As a child I chose to paint the rooftops visible from my parents window, and I have always loved painting all kinds of buildings from ancient to the most contemporary. I will experiment with surfaces and techniques and I will work with all sorts of media such as collage, ghesso, plaster, oils, acrylics and inks."

The exhibition opens tomorrow, March 31 and runs until Saturday, May 13. For further details, call 01885 490839 or visit greenstagegallery.co.uk
