PRESTEIGNE and Norton Town Council applied for a grant last summer from the Tesco Bags of Help Scheme to purchase a new play equipment unit to site at Wilson Terrace play area, Knighton Road, Presteigne. The project was short listed (one of three) and a vote was made at Tesco's. The council received £8000.

The play area is run by PCC but the town council obtained permission to get the new unit put on the site. The new 'little city' was installed a week ago.

James Tennant- Eyles mayor of Presteigne thanked Tesco Bags of Help Scheme for the grant on behalf of the town.

There is now a group of playground mums fundraising to buy more new equipment to add to the unit the town council has provided.

The mayor's fundraiser will take place in July and will also be fundraising to buy new equipment for the play area.
