AFTER seeing the photo of the split banana in the Hereford Times last week, Bob Breeze called the office to offer his expertise.
The Abergavenny resident said it is called a fused finger and is very common.
Mr Breeze said: "They should be taken out when they are selected as it is considered a fault."
He handled banana imports for 48 years, including working at Horace Sullivan Ltd in Catherine Street, Hereford and the Newport Docks.
