THE Bishop of Hereford welcomed two new ecumenical companions to stalls in Hereford Cathedral at Evensong on March 19.
The role of an ecumenical companion is to personify the links between the cathedral and other religious denominations; they receive invitations to cathedral events and opportunities to preach at services. Steve Sully, Pastor of Challenge Community Church, Hereford and Fr Cadfan Williams, OSB, Belmont Abbey, Hereford, join the existing ecumenical companions, Bishops Ark and Elisabeth, joint bishops in the Lutheran Church in Nuremberg, Germany, with which the Diocese of Hereford is twinned.
