A RARE opportunity is on offer to rent a traditional National Trust farmhouse.

The four-bedroom Grade II listed Little Penlan Farmhouse, located four miles from Kington, dates back to the fifteenth century and needs new tenants from May 1.

The National Trust acquired the Brilley Estate, where the property is based, in 1957 for its high landscape value and fine example of Welsh border farms which include farmhouses, traditional buildings, wooded dingles and mature woodland.

Little Penlan is currently undergoing a full refurbishment, due to be completed in April 2017.

Estate manager Daniel Delaney said: "Little Penlan is such a stunning property, whoever decides to live here will absolutely love it.

"Our farmhouses don’t come up that often to rent so we’ve arranged for a viewing day so potential tenants can explore the property in detail and see what it might be like to live there, and ask any questions they might have about renting a National Trust property.”

Little Penlan will be open for viewings on Tuesday (March 28), by appointment only.
