FIRE crews are working with paramedics in a joint operation in Newton Farm, Hereford.
The Hereford Times understands the emergency services were called to Sherborne Close this afternoon to help a woman who was taken ill.
Reports on social media stated that the woman was unable to leave her home and paramedics called upon the services of the fire brigade to help in the rescue operation.
Currently the fire brigade are building what appears to be a ramp outside the first floor flat.
Five ambulances, two fire vehicles and a police car are currently at the scene.
However, a police officer at the scene told the Hereford Times that she could not comment on the details of the operation.
"This is not a major incident," said the officer, who added that they were supporting the fire service.
The fire service had earlier said they were supporting the ambulance service.
More details to follow.
