THE chairman of a town council said he has received apologies from other councillors following critical comments made by an It's Our County member.
Last week, Cllr Jim Kenyon, who is currently Hereford's mayor, criticised Ross-on-Wye Town Council in support of a 24-year-old candidate, Jordan Creed, running in the town's by-election.
The county councillor and Hereford city councillor said the Ross town councillors are stuck in their ways and Mr Creed will add a fresh outlook.
Mr Creed is running for It's Our County and Cllr Kenyon criticised the town council on the party's Facebook page.
The chairman of Ross-on-Wye Town Council, David Ravenscroft, said at last night's meeting that two Hereford City Councillors had approached him at a function and apologised for Cllr Kenyon's comments.
Cllr Ravenscroft also said that a member of It's Our County also approached him and said the comments were Cllr Kenyon's personal opinion and not representative of the party.
Cllr Ravenscroft added: "It is very unusual for a member of another council to criticise a town council on there like that."
