A PRINCE'S Trust fundraising committee has smashed its regional fundraising target with the help of a solicitors firm.

Thursfields Solicitors were this year made ‘Committee Ambassador’ for the Prince’s Trust Herefordshire and Worcestershire Development Committee.

The youth charity helps young people aged 13 to 30 get into jobs, education and training.

This year the Trust is celebrating its 40th anniversary and, to celebrate this, the local committee set themselves an ambitious target of raising £40,000.

As well as taking part and supporting various events throughout the year, Worcester based solicitors Thursfields hosted a quiz night in January.

The event, which saw 27 teams from local businesses battle it out to be crowned the winner and raised over £4,000 for the Trust.

Thursfields were also an event partner for the Trust’s 40th anniversary celebration ball, which took place on February 10, at Worcester Rugby Club.

The glamorous event raised £17,460 and meant the Trust smashed its £40,000 target, with a total amount of £50,225 raised for the year to date.

Kirsty Underhill, a trainee solicitor, has been a member of the Committee since June 2016 representing Thursfields.

Nick O’Hara, Managing Director, said: “We have for many years supported the Prince’s Trust and having Kirsty on the Committee means we can continue to play a vital role in supporting the local Trust Committee.

"We are proud to have contributed to a remarkable amount of money being raised for the charity, which will help change young lives for the better.”
