TREES which were planted back in 1953 to mark the Queen's coronation have been spruced up to mark the Sapphire Jubilee.
To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's 65th year on the throne on Monday, pupils from Brockhampton Academy gathered around the trees which were planted on the Bromyard Downs.
Volunteers from the Bromyard Downs Project had tidied up the trees and the area after it had become overgrown.
The pupils were joined by Richard Davis, who helped plant the trees back in 1953, his son, Mark, and brother, Len Davis, both previous students of the school.
Together, they unveiled a commemorative plaque and the current year two students went on to spend the afternoon on the Downs learning about animal habitats and winter tree identification with the resources and education pack created for them by the project, and a little guidance from the Wildplay team.
