WE reported last week how councillors were at loggerheads in an east v west dispute about the best solution to Hereford’s traffic congestion.
We asked readers who took part in this week's online poll which way they thought a Hereford bypass should go.
A total of 1,314 people took part and a slim majority of 54 per cent said they agreed with the Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Jim Kenyon, that the road should go east.
However, 39 per cent of voters disagreed and said they thought the route should be to the west of the city.
The remaining seven per cent said they did not know.
