A HAIRRAISING challenge raised near £250 for prostate cancer charities.

Staff from David Lloyd Club in Worcester and Worcester Warriors rugby players had a professional shave-off to mark their facial growth for Movember. Barbers from Goodlife in Worcester’s Cornmarket gave the Movember men a good old fashioned shave, leaving them clean shaven and smiling, having raised £245 for the charities.

David Lloyd staff and members of Warriors’ first team, started growing moustaches on November 1 and continued throughout "Movember" ready for the facial hair finale at the end of the month.

Sindy Jones, membership manager at David Lloyd Worcester, who organised the fundraiser, said: “The guys have had some funny looks from members and threats from their other halves, but they gamely stuck it out. Prostate cancer is a disease that all men in their forties and over should be aware of, and we hope that our fundraising this month can help towards the charity’s work. Huge thanks to the Warriors for getting involved and to Goodlife Barbers for the top notch shave off.”
