A 90-YEAR-OLD woman who still volunteers has been awarded a Silver Kite award by the council for her services to the community.
Glenys Millichamp, from Presteigne, was given the award by Chairman of Powys County Council Cllr Keith Tampin.
Mrs Millichamp, who turned 90 last month, has served on Presteigne Chamber of Trade and the town’s Memorial Hall Committee.
She still works at least two shifts a week in the Community Support Shop in Presteigne, which raises money for hospital cars.
A strong support of Welsh standards, Mrs Millichamp has made flags for the town’s special occasions in the past.
